Hello forumers,
I have some home videos to edit and thought to try pitivi. No luck. It basically doesn't like any video clips I have. When I try to import a clip, it just says:
Required plugin could not be found
Python (v2.7) requires to install plugins to play media files of the following type: video/x-surface decoder
I have googled back and forth but nothing. It is like no one has ever seen the same problem. It makes me think that I have screwed something up but can't fihure out what it can be.
All other players that I have tried play the clips fine, mplayer, totem and vlc.
mplayer gives this information:
MPEG-PS file format detected.
VIDEO: MPEG2 720x576 (aspect 3) 25.000 fps 8900.0 kbps (1112.5 kbyte/s)
I think I have all possible codecs installed, good, bad and ugly.
Thumbnailing doesn't work either.
My system is 64bit Ubuntu 12.04.1 Pentium G840, intel integrated graphics.
