Question What is 'Gnome Compatibility' and 'KDE compatibility'?..

    Hi all,

what are these two options which appear in CCSM..'Gnome compatibility' and 'KDE compatibility' ?

If I check them, what effect will it take place? Will it affect my Unity Desktop Environment?

You can use Compiz as window manager for KDE instead of KWin and then KDE compatibility should be enabled.

So you mean KDE works well in managing opened windows and by default KWin manages the opened Windows which can be replaced by KDE if I enable the KDE compatibility....

    Right???

I don't exactly know what your post meant, but if you want explanations, you can click the respective plugins in ccsm and you can see what options are provided. For example, for KDE compatibility, you have "Support Plasma Thumbnails", etc.

So basically, you can use Compiz in KDE without the "KDE Compatibility" plugin enabled, but if you want it to work well and without errors, enable it.
