Unhappy Error while running Battlefield 1942 in Wine

I installed Battlefield 1942 through Wine, but when I run it, I get the following error.

    Code:
    fixme:service:scmdatabase_autostart_services Auto-start service L"SecDrv" failed to start: 2
What's going wrong and how can I fix it? Can someone please explain that to me?

    I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and Wine 1.5.14

I've got the same error. Wine+BF1942 was working on previous versions of kubuntu. Anyone knows the fix?

The problem had something to do with the CD-check. After installing a nocd-crack, it worked fine. Of course this is not the elegant way, but it worked.

No matter how benign or innocent the discussion of any form of "cracking" may be for any purpose, there is the potential for illegal, illicit or nefarious use. Such being the case, discussion of their use is a violation of the Forum CoC.
