DesktopBSD is long gone. You could try GhostBSD or PC-BSD instead. If you feel up for a challenge try FreeBSD which you can customize.

    that's the thing...... i HATED PC-BSD.

I USED TO just customize freebsd/xwindows, but i'm permanently disabled now; can't type much; need something clicky. =/

gonna give Mint a try later today... then maybe OpenSUSE(?)

Why do you hate PC-BSD? Maybe there is something that can be fixed. Also why did you ignore the GhostBSD part of my post?

The unique parts of Mint are independently developed and managed. Because it is a derivative of Ubuntu, it can use, and does use, Ubuntu repositories for most of its software. Mint is an excellent distribution.

Hi, Paradive. Yes, Mint is developed by people independent of the Ubuntu project.

Are you using Mint now? How do you find it?
