Mixed logit models software

Hi there!

I would like to know if there is any software in ubuntu similar to SAS. What my husband is trying to do is perform mixed logit models and he needs a software to do that.
I have no idea what that means, but since I'm trying to make him a ubuntu user, I thought I could seduce him finding this software,

I have heard the term but it's not something I use...I'd say look at:
http://www.r-project.org/

and
http://www.sagemath.org/

R is statistics and it's very complete + programmable....SAGE is similar to Mathematica but open source...and you can build ANYTHING from it.
