If you only have a bit of data available I would wait until I update the kernel.
There are a few bugs with the current kernel with Plymouth and Nvidia and ATI drivers.
I have tested the 3.6.2 Kernel and it seems to fix most of the issues.
Ubuntu 12.10 is iffy at best in VirtualBox. Probably due to the above mentioned bugs. Hardware Acceleration does not work in any of the 12.10 'buntus in VirtualBox. Again, see above.

Hi! I'm now happily on Kubuntu 12.10. It seems to be smooth, some thing made Firefox and AmaroK crash but we'll see (if it's bad we can go back to Mint KDE)... I'm lovin' it!
