    Problems with Thunderbird

I have just upgraded from Lubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 beta 1, and now whenever I open Thunderbird,it immediately closes and I have no idea what is going on nor how to fix it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Try to open the program from the terminal with the following and post the output in code tags #. There may be a clue as to what's happening.
    Code:
    thunderbird

OK, here's what I get when I do that:

    Re: Problems with Thunderbird

It seems to be complaining about the theme . Have you tried a different theme ? Also install all updates if you haven't already.

    Re: Problems with Thunderbird

    OK, then I have 2 questions/problems.

    1. How do I change the theme when it will not stay opened, and
    2. When I try to update I keep (both in the updater, and in the terminal) getting the following:

    Code:
    W: Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/dists/[distro]/partner/source/Sources 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.92.150 80]

    W: Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/dists/[distro]/partner/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.92.150 80]

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
    Thanks.

Just thinking out loud here but what about purging Thunderbird and then doing an install followed by a search for updates?

Upon purging, reinstalling, and updating, I get:

    Re: Problems with Thunderbird

I have tried removing thunderbird, then updating, and finally reinstalling thunderbird - but to no avail. I still get the previous messages when I attempt to run Thunderbird from the terminal. Can anyone help me please? Thanks a bunch!

    Re: Problems with Thunderbird

Are you able to get Thunderbird to work without crashing when running the following command?
    Code:
    thunderbird -safe-mode

Yes, daslinkard, it does seem to run in safe mode! So, what do I do next?
