I still get this on latest Chrome and Chromium on QQ. Firefox is fine. PP+Chrome/Chromium/Firefox is OK.
I don't know, I thought it was something Javscript related, but I'm failing to find the script/function that is causing it.
I'm beginning to wonder that, as absurd as it may seem, it somehow relates to NVidia. I know, I'm completely aware of how weird it sounds.
Could anyone testing up-to-date QQ and Chromium/Chrome test this? Just open a series of other websites, monitor CPU usage with top command. Use the Dash so you get used to it's speed/responsiveness. Then open OMGUbuntu and check top for unusual CPU usage and the Dash for any decrease in visual performance. I just wanna get rid of the insane idea that this may be caused by something Nvidia....
Thanks,
Effenberg

Just realized you asked about OMGUbuntu.
I actually hit 100% CPU, on both cores, loading that site.
Visually, it was a little hanky on Chromium -- jerky, not smooth -- slow to load.
Also, no DISQUS...
It's shockingly fast & responsive in Opera-Next! DISQUS works fine, too.

My QQ is up to date as of a few minutes ago. By "up-to-date Chromium," do you mean the latest version in the repos or the latest version released at chromium.org? I have the latest version in the repos, and when I go to OMGUbuntu everything works pretty well. The CPU does get fired up a bit (Chromium jumps up to about 30% at times, but no higher), and the Dash does perhaps get a bit less responsive, but it is very minimal (in fact, the only minor difference I notice is that I sometimes have to click twice for the Dash to close, as though it doesn't notice the first click; otherwise, performance while doing everything else with it is as normal). DISQUS also works for me.
I'm not using an Nvidia card, though; I'm on an Intel HD 4000. Hopefully the data will help, however!

@jrog, I see you are running an Intel graphics adapter, VinDSL, effenberg0x0 and I are running Nvidia graphics adapters of various models.
The problem seems to affect Gnome-shell as well, only not as bad. I did a fresh install of the Gnome Remix beta this afternoon, and running chromium-browser and chrome, I get the results shown in the screenshot. In this case though gnome-shell is what is using more resources. In chromium with three omgubuntu tabs open, cpu usage goes up to almost 50%, where with 3 Forum tabs open gnome-shell is using from 4 to 8% cpu usage.

Here it's that whatever at the top that causes high cpu use in X & chrome* when it's visible, goes back to normal when not (+ a few inches
typical when using chrome, nothing else but a terminal, higher then lower when scrolled down
