Problems with menu items/buttuns being unavailable

This is a nuisance rather than a disaster. Two recent examples are:

In Nautilus the 'Rename' menu option is greyed out.

In qBittorrent the type of material to search locks onto whatever is in use at the time - usually books in my case.

Restarting the program usually solves the problem.
