OpenConnect and FileZilla Issues

I'm using FileZilla 3.5.3 with Ubuntu 12.04 64 and having some issues with FTPing while connected via VPN with openconnect. I am able to make a VPN connection successfully with openconnect and also view webpages though the browser that are only availble if connected though VPN. However, when I try to use FileZilla and make an FTP connection I get an EAI_NONAME error. I am able to do this successfully with FileZilla on both OSX and Windows while connected though VPN with the same VPN and FTP credentials. I'm really unsure what the issue is here. Is it the VPN connection or something to do with FileZilla? Where and how would I start to track this down?
