    Phonon settings do not stick

    Hi

This is related to my previous question, in fact repeating one part of it. On Kubuntu 12.04, when I go to System Settings > Multimedia > Phonon > Audi Hardware Setup, I can change the settings there a 1000 times - they don't stick. I change them to what I want, click Apply and Ok, close it, and when I open them again right away, the old settings are back. How can I make the settings stay as I want them?

If you are selecting a different hardware device (if you have more than one shown), are you moving it to the top of the list to give it priority?

    Yes:

    - on the Device Preference tab, I have an X-Fi Titanium series as the preference for every Audio Playback category, but
    - on the Audio Hardware Setup tab, choosing this as the sound card doesn't stick - it always reverts to GF110 High Definition Audio Controller.

Since this is a machine with a RAID system (so I need an alternate installer CD or something like that), the only thing that has now worked is installing Mint 12 ...
