Smile Grammar check software for Ubuntu

Initially i was a Windows user and I used Whitesmoke software as a tool for checking my grammar mistakes.

Now i have totally become Ubuntu desktop user and miss the software. Please let me know whether there is any software similar to Whitesmoke in Ubuntu. Even a paid one will do for me.

As far as I know, Ubuntu has a spell checker enabled by default. At least mine is checking for mistakes. Which language do you need spell checker for? And for which program?

    Regards.

From what I've seen, linux doesn't have a solid grammar checker. If you have a copy of whitesmoke, you could try installing it using the WINE windows compatibility layer.

I have tired doing that, but the application doesn't come up on the screen.

    Give this link a try:

    Edit: link I can't post it. http://*********************.com/201...ice-in-ubuntu/
For some reason I can't post this link so if you do a search for "How-to Install Grammar Checker for LibreOffice in Ubuntu |" you can go to this link.

Re: Grammar check software for Ubuntu

Just for the record I installed the Grammar Checker for LibreOffice Writer and it works. I had to shut down Office and for some reason it didn't want to start so I did a re-boot and it said that LibreOffice was running yet but it wasn't displayed. So I shut down and when I came back up everything was working.
I typed a short document with some grammar mistakes and some it fixed and some it underlined and let me chose what I was trying to do. It seems to work.
Hope this is what you were looking for. I think I will be able to use it myself.
I ran this post to see if there were some grammar mistakes and it saw that I ran shut down together and it asked if I wanted to correct it.
