ALSA driver makes a clicking sound
I use an external USB device for my audio. It converts to digital optical, which I then feed into my mini-disk player. Ubuntu recognizes it automatically and it works very well. However, on my new HP laptop, there is a light clicking sound over the top of the sound output. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this? For instance, if I change the sample rate, will it help? (And how would I do that?)
Thanks in advance,
Re: ALSA driver makes a clicking sound
Has anybody body found a fix for this? I am using a hp dv7 6135dx and it continues to make that light clicking noise. I'm almost sure that its the driver but I don't know how to tweak it so that it stops making that noise. This can get very annoying. I did not want to change the configurations though because if i do it makes noise come out through sub woofer of the laptop when the headphones are connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the mean time.... I shall continue Googleing and will post back if i find anything.
