    I'm guessing that you meant to include a screenshot but it didn't take

    I don't see the pic.

    Just saw grub-updates and the grub-emu doesn't show the Starfield theme and the colors are black, had to change them in theme.txt to be able to see:

    + boot_menu {
    left = 10%
    width = 80%
    top = 20%
    height = 50%
    item_font = "DejaVu Sans Regular 12"
    item_color = "#6ac"
    selected_item_font = "DejaVu Sans Bold 14"
    selected_item_color= "#fff"
    selected_item_pixmap_style = "blob_*.png"
    icon_height = 25
    icon_width = 25
    item_height = 26
    item_padding = 0
    item_icon_space = 0
    item_spacing = 1
    scrollbar = true
    scrollbar_width = 20
    scrollbar_thumb = "slider_*.png"
    menu_pixmap_style = "boot_menu_*.png"
    }

    Re: New grub NOT mega-multi-boot freindly

    the new grub is still not finding and adding all of my linux installs . Since 1.99 did find and make available all of my installs I can only consider this a serious regression . It is not that ubuntu dosen't see those installs because I can mount and read them from nautilus ( I refuse to call it files) and it is not that they are in any way dammaged I can boot into them by going into bios and changing my first boot drive to one of the "missing" installs .
    if it ain't broke you haven't tweaked it enough

    Re: New grub NOT mega-multi-boot freindly

    Here is the wiki if any one is interested. It is broken into 2 parts.
    Part 1 is Lucid Lynx grub 1.98.
    Part 2 is everything after that: grub 1.99 and 2.00 as they are almost the same in the way to customize it.
    The only difference between grub 1.99 and 2.00 is where you put the custom font colors.
    With grub 1.99 in /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme the colors go after line 98.
    With grub 2.00 the colors go after line 108.

    Thanks! I am not understanding what you mean.
    It will work if you have 1 Ubuntu, or if you have 12 Ubuntus with or without windows.
    I also works with a Debian Squeeze install.

    The font size is adjustable but, I would check the link I put in there concerning that before doing so.

    Re: New grub NOT mega-multi-boot freindly

    Code:
    grep -e "menuentry " -e "submenu" /boot/grub/grub.cfg | sed 's/^[ \t]*//' | cut -d "'" -f1,2 | nl --starting-line-number=0
    This will show you what grub menu will display.
    This is a new version of that grep command. The older one does not work any more even on Lucid.
    Drs305 gave it to me.
    Here is my output:
    Code:
         0    menuentry "Lycid Lynx 10.04" {
         1    menuentry "Lycid Lynx 10.04 (Recovery Mode)" {
         2    menuentry "Precise Pangolin 12.04" {
         3    menuentry "Precise Pangolin 12.04 (Recovery Mode)" {
         4    menuentry "Quantal Quetzal 12.10" {
         5    menuentry "Quantal Quetzal 12.10 (Recovery Mode)" {
         6    menuentry "Windows 7" {
    *Note: I forgot to mention that command will not parse the submenus of other ubuntus with multiple kernels.
