Hi, sorry for taking so long to reply.
I was also afraid the "recovery" (my mistake, it was actually a repair process) process would wipe my hard drive clean, but when it started, there was a note saying no files or data would be lost. It was very fast, despite a warning that it could take over an hour. I believe it was this(link), which makes sense, since it serves to repair, along with other files, the MBR file.
