New Netbook, how to backup/transfer OS?

OK here's what I would like to do.

I have been using my Netbook for some time which has exclusively Ubuntu on it. I am getting a new one and someone has expressed an interest in taking my old one.

The new Netbook comes with Windows 7 on it (which I don't want). However, the person interested in my old one does not know Linux and would like me to put Windows on it for them. The licence EULA allows you to use Windows on one machine only at a time so it would be "legal" for me to remove Windows from the new PC and install in on the older one.

But both are Netbooks which do not have an optical drive. Is there a way of backing up the Windows 7 OS from one onto a bootable flash drive so that I could reinstall it onto the other machine? Of course it would be much simpler if they were willing to use Linux..sigh!!!

    Thanks for any suggestions.
( I do have access to a windows machine if that helps)

this is a windows 7 quesiton. you should find help on windows 7 forums.

also i don'7 think you can transfer windows 7 (probably the starter version) just like that, since they are likely locked to the specific maschine.
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla
