Does Realtek ALC888 sound lack the ability to capture its own audio?

I've looked at pretty much every setting I can find, I've spent an hour searing various websites, and I can't find anything.

As far as I can remember, I'm doing the same as I've done in the past on different computers with AC97 sound, and it worked on that.

But I can't seem to find any sort of capture source for the internal audio of this sound chip.

    Anyone have any info?

    What model of PC?
Some soundcards (particularly in laptops, for some reason) have this capacity disabled.
Some twaddle about stopping piracy is responsible, I beleive.
