network password is overwritten eeebuntu on eeepc

Hallo!

i work with eeebuntu 9.04 on an eeepc 901.

i get contact to a wireless network without wpa.

if there is a password needed for wpa2 i can write it into the mask.

as soon as ubuntu tries to connect, the password is overwritten i guess by hexadecimal numbers, so the connection fails.
If i do the same with an eeepc 1000HE it works as it should.

any ideas to solve this problem?

If it's a bug, it will never be fixed, because 9.04 reached its "end of life" way back in 2010!

Give the current 12.04 release a try.
