uninstall VBox

I am new in Ubuntu and i dowloaded and installed Virtual Box(all distrobution) for Ubuntu 12.4 LTS form official VBox site(https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads).
As you know Virtual Box has appropriate vesrion for ubuntu. my VBox installed in /opt directory.

i have tow questions:
1-how do i uninstall incorrect version of VBox and replace it with correct version.
is it enough delete VirutalBox directory in /opt directory?
2- do i need install extension pack?what is diference between when you install extension pack and when you do not install it. what does extension pack has advantage for me?

infact i am used Linux Mint (before Ubuntu 12.4)and downloaded "All Distrobution" for Mint, that have a problem....my problem was i dont have any internet connection in windows xp as guest
now i install ubuntu version and solve my problem.
