Hey All,

So I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on a Desktop, and the motherboard is an Intel DX58S0 w/ an Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz × 8. I started having (or rather noticing) problems after I installed a wi-fi card and more RAM.

What occurs is that when playing music, or streaming videos, occasional skips occur. It's a pretty gnarly skip, or lag.

I tested the RAM today by taking out and seeing one-by-one that they RAM works, and also in groups. While I seem to have the best performance when I use three slots, and not all four, small skips/lags still happen. But the computer runs, so I'm fairly confident the cause is not the memory.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
