I have just created a grub2 bootable flash drive for a client, but I want to HIDE the grub2 version number which it displays at the top of the screen when grub2 loads boot options, as it is obscuring some screen real estate...

Do not know details. But some of the themes shown as examples do not have the version.

I still cannot work this out. I would have to know about making GRUB themes, which I don't. Any more ideas? Thank you
I have not installed themes. But it looks like all you have to do is download one that is like what you want. It has a script to install all the defaults.
