Trying to run KOTOR on steam

Hi

I'm a complete novice at ubuntu and I'm trying to run Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic. Wine works fine, Steam works fine and my other game in my Steam Library (the original Fallout) works fine but when I try and run Kotor it gets as far as the BioWare logo and then it has a tantrum and crashes becoming a black box in the corner of my screen. It then doesn't respond, I can't maximise/minimize it or close it, or close steam, the only way I can stop it is to log out and log back in again. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love this game and my physical copy got scratched to hell a while ago. If I were running a physical copy I could fix it through terminal but I dont know how to do that if I'm running the program through steam, through wine.

Yes, it says disabling cutscenes should make it work but I don't know how to do that without running the game and changing it in the options.

When the game blacks out the wine system tray pops up. Seriously what can I do to make it run properly?

Hey, I'm having a problem running steam kotor as well and I tried checking wine but it didn't give me any ideas. The Game starts but the colors are off and it goes into the right side of the screen where I see only half of the game screen. Any ways to fix this?
