Sort by name not working properly

    Hello, can someone reproduce this?

    I have 3 files:
    "Test i Welcome.txt", "Test ii Hello.txt", "Test iii Hi.txt"

And they should be sorted like this when setting is 'sort by name':

    Code:
    Test i Welcome.txt
    Test ii Hello.txt
    Test iii Hi.txt
But Nautilus sorts them like this:

    Code:
    Test ii Hello.txt
    Test iii Hi.txt
    Test i Welcome.txt

hi - its a nautilus bug

been around for a while now - reported in 2006 as per https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355152
and it is frustrating - - sorry I couldn't have been more helpful.

The file manager in KDE, dolphin, does not suffer from this problem. "Just sayin' ..."

This is a very old issue about what "should" happen on sorts, regardless of what Nautilus may or may not be doing:

Bottom-line is that all "sorts" are not equal, and how things are sorted in one app does not necessarily mean that another app sorting differently is actually doing anything wrong.
