I have tried to replicate this behaviour but unable to do so. My load times are normal which of course is murphy's law.

Sometimes it can take around a minute to load a page and somtimes there are even server not responding errors.

The above node is dropping somewhere between 30-90% of all packets passing through it.
Canonical will have to take this up with Level 3 or their intermediary to Level 3.

It's probably that only a few people are commenting or reporting the error. Many (too many) take a fatalistic approach to computer technology and accept any situation as unavoidable and unfixable. I myself sat on the problem for many weeks before writing about it.

Depending on where you are the routing is different, I'm in Western Canada, my traceroute looks like this:

There were definitely problems this morning (London time 0600) on both the forums and the repositories. A 'traceroute' to various Canonical sites showed a definite problem in the final hop from Level 3 to Canonical. Everything seems back to normal now.Originally Posted by mips
