support for hp simplepass

I was wondering if anybody has gotten the hp simplepass finger print scanner to work yet in Precise. I tried Fprint (sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fprint) but my device is not supported

Some info:
I have the Pavilion dv6-c35dx
scanner is the hp simplepass Bus 004 Device 002: ID 138a:0018 Validity Sensors, Inc.

Any help would be appreciated, this is my wife's favorite part of the laptop.

Yes I have, it supports the 138a:0001 but not the 138a:0018. Thank you though.

I am having the same problem with a 138a:0018 simplepass reader on an
HP dv7-8167cl.

I have a Pavilion dv6-3230us laptop with simplepass fingerprint recognition, and found this thread just now, and wanted to reply that I'll be checking back in later, with an update on how it works for me. I plan to dual boot with Ubuntu Precise 12.04 sometimes later after I find a good solution to overcome HP taking up the maximum allowed four partitions on the Hard Drive. I'm anxious to get Ubuntu on it!
