Re: Annoying password when trying to connect to the Internet

Open a terminal and give this command
    Code:
    nmcli con
what is the output ? Can you see anything ?
Is not necessary to post the output here .

And try the solution from AskUbuntu.com and hopefully will work.

This means that you didn't search enough in Network Manager. This command is a helper for Network Manager from terminal.
nmcli (network manager command line interface)

So your connection is somewhere in network manager , search under wireless if is wireless ... etc

But did you try the solution here ? : http://askubuntu.com/questions/68292...eyring-manager

I think this will solve your problem.

    Thanks

Re: Annoying password when trying to connect to the Internet

    Hi ,
    thats weird.

Can you run a script ?

    follow the commands below
    Code:
    wget "http://ubuntuone.com/73AB8BzNwtPJMHmZ0i7lpF" -O ~/netscript.sh
    chmod a+x netscript.sh
    ./netscript.sh
The last command (./netscript.sh) will produce a text file inside your home folder , named netinfo.txt

Open this text file with gedit , from terminal you can run
    Code:
    gedit ~/netinfo.txt
Copy everything and paste them here (or you can attach the text file if you want).

If you paste the results here directly , do not forget to paste them between [code] brackets ,so can be readable.

    Thanks

Re: Annoying password when trying to connect to the Internet

    Hi ,
I don't really know what happened here. It seems that you are not connect to Internet via your wireless , am I right ?

You are connect to Internet via ... what ? mobile 3G ? Usb adapter ? What ?

As for the annoying password prompt , I was pretty sure that seahorse will fix that (seahorse is the keyring thing , we tried earlier)

You have to many connections there (in NetWorkManager) ok , this is not bad , but I don't know if you managed to change something , or install something to configure those connections.

I can see something in /opt/ folder regarding to 3G Mobile , and this killall pppd , it seems like a program who wants to kill the Point-to-Point protocol daemon that is already started for some reason. Listed on modules
    Code:
    ppp_deflate
    ppp_async
what do you have inside /etc/modules ?
    Code:
    cat /etc/modules
    Thanks
