    Developing java apps in ubuntu

    i have netbeans for linux in my ubuntu most of the tutorials in youtube are written from window does that mean i cant work them on linux i heard that java is platform independent so if i write a calculator app in ubuntu will it work?

    i also have a plan to upload it to ubuntu softweare center bythe way i read the paid apps statement 80% you 20% for us i feel sad about ubuntu/canonical that statement brings me tears in to my eyes i love ubuntu so i hope i can devolp apps soon

    Yes you can, every Java App Runs over a Java Virtual Machine, so if you have an OS that have a JVM you can run you App, that’s why they said that Java is platform independent.

    Java code is fully platform-independent, yes.
