Remove obsolete Ubuntu Forum User Name

In a past life experimenting with Ubuntu I had a User Name tied to an e-mail address that is defunct owing to a defunct hosting company (AFMU). Since retrieving a forgotten password requires that the e-mail address be current, the User Name is also defunct.

How do I get this fixed and get rid of my temporary User Name?

It would help if you told us what that user name is, as only admins can make any changes.

I think I found the username. Awaiting return PM from user.

Awaiting confirmation of success before disabling destroyedusername account.
