USB ports not working on MBP 10.2 running 13.10

As title says, USB is giving power, but no data. After the initial install I was able to use a USB mouse. Now no USB devices will work.

Tried fdisk with my external (formatted as ExFAT) and it did not show up.

    Any ideas?

I am still unable to get the USB working. Can i do a network install of Ubuntu? USB is not recognized at the bios level as well.
