    Ubuntu back to OS X

    Hey everyone
So basically this is what I need. I want to put OS X back onto my MacBook. I erased it whilst installing Ubuntu and I'd really like to get it back. I have the OS X.dmg on my computer and need to know what to do next. I tried putting it on a flash drive and booting it but it didn't work. Any help would be awesome!

You would need to convert the .dmg to a .iso image.

Can I just edit the .dmg and change it to a .iso?

No, dmg is a different image format than iso.

At any rate looks like the utilities to do this are built right in

I have successfully converted to iso and I tried to boot from my flash drive. When I restarted and held down the option button a Hard Drive icon popped up that said "Windows" and I clicked it and it just brought me to the ubuntu log on screen. So yesh, what now mates?

Burn the ISO to a CD or DVD and try the traditional method of booting to a CD/DVD disk.
