Not necessarily better or worse, just different.

Some more information on what you hope to achieve might be useful, otherwise this thread might be moved to "recurring discussions"....

They're all good. It just depends on what you do on your machine and the condition of the machine. Kubuntu and Lubuntu are lighter so need less memory and power than Ubuntu. All can be modified to suit your visual taste.

Imagine Kubuntu as just Ubuntu with different clothes. Underneath what you see they are both the same.

    Question Re: is it ok

they are same i think. if you like taskbar and other advantages of win7's aero desktop, you can use KDE. for this you don't need to install kubuntu. you can do it with your ubuntu, just install plasma desktop instead installing kubuntu. Unitiy is totally different from kde. you will find a lot of fun here. I just love UNITY. choice yours

If you are going to try the KDE route though try Netrunner, I have always found Kubuntu on its own rather clunky and Netrunner is a modified version of it without the clunkiness.

    Re: is it ok

It depends what you find important in a desktop. I would say (based on my own experience) use KDE if:
    - You want lots of (easy) customization
    - Use mainly Qt applications or apps that depend on the KDE framework
    - Want some cool desktop effects
    - Accept some higher RAM usage (you can cut it down but it relatively high with the default settings)

Ubuntu on the other hand provides the most comfortable (and best looking IMO) out of the box experience and I guess it's also easier to find help.
