How to Install Java

I was informed that the version of Java on my computer was a security threat and was disabled. I have Linux Mint Ubuntu on a desktop HP computer.

When I went to the Hearts site to play a game, I was informed that "the game cannot be played with your current settings" and it had a site to click on to install another version of Java. When I tried to install Java, it eventually took me to a place that said, "The package you requested will install shortly" but nothing happens.

How do I enable a new version of Java so that I can resume playing Hearts?

Usually you have to click on the detailed installation window, accept the terms and condItions...
