Thrive needs Programmers!

Just pointing out that there is a new alternative (and hopefully will be better then) "Spore" in the works, but they need programmers. If your interested or know someone who might be interested feel free to visit their development forum: http://thrivegame.forum-free.ca/

Though a more detail description can be found here: http://www.moddb.com/games/thrive as well as a cell editor, and AI editor (both prototypes) in downloads.

It is open-source + non-profit.

Agreed. Especially a project of this size and complexity.

I also can't wait for the first stage to be released, suppose to be sometime this year.

Unfortunately after 20 minutes on that website I feel I still know nothing about the game and think someone needs a serious lesson in web design,

I was going to go into grumpy programmer mode and say something along the lines of 'everyone needs ******* programmers', but as it's a spore alternative, it's popped to the top of my 'when I have some spare time' list. Sounds awesome, hope it takes off. I would help if I wasn't so busy.

Yea apparently they're trying to release the first stage before the end of this year. They have the cell editor available but I don't see a linux version atm. Its open-source so I suppose the Source code be obtained.
