Does Ubuntu have this Windows 7 feature?

The feature is too long to describe in the title. I'm wondering if Ubuntu has the Windows 7 feature that allows you to drag a window to the side of the screen and have it resize to take up that half of the screen. There's also the related feature where you can drag a window to the top of the screen and have it resize to occupy the full screen.

It does indeed have this feature. At least in 11.04 (Natty Narwhal). It is safe to presume it is in other versions too

Thank you sir for the timely answer. I'm glad to hear this.

EDIT: Ah, looks like it has the top screen maximizing feature, but not the side screen half screen feature. I wonder why they got rid of it.

It's there. I use it daily to have two Terminals side by side.

Could you have accidentally turned it off?

Gnome Classic on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS has it too. It works both ways: Drag the window to the top of your screen. Drag it downward from title-bar and your back at the original size.

It's also a default feature of Gnome Shell.
