The guys in Mint forums always poke fun at the Ubuntu users, so even though I like Clem's work, I took apart Mint 13 and took away the Mint apps and the "customization" just to show that Mint is Ubuntu 12.04 and nothing else. I did the same with Zorin's OS and Pinguy 12.04. At least Pinguy names it 12.04.

The guys at Elementary OS are different. They say the base is Ubuntu and they really come up with different apps. I tried Marlin or Files, Lingo etc and find them quite okay to work with. Of course, I'd download it when it appears and put a dark wallpaper there.

Have a nice day!
