Red face gnome 3 display resolution woes

    Hi all,

I've been using gnome3 on a laptop that always has an external monitor connected via HDMI. I've manually set things up so that my workspace is extended to the external monitor (dual view, essentially).

Annoyingly, if I ever close the laptop lid and reopen it (like when I'm afk), after about 10 seconds of things working fine, I automatically get switched to clone mode. This is very annoying. Is there any way to avoid this?

I can't help you sorry but I have noticed that only recently when I play some games which switch graphics mode then when I close the game my second monitor switches to mirror mode as you say. I have to enter the display settings to restore it.

So this seems to be a new bug I guess? I am using xorg-edgers ppa so it could be related to that. Are you?
