I'm just wondering what the laws are on putting Ubuntu (or other Linux distributions) on old computers as a 'pocket money' service?
I'm not yet 18, this would only be for some extra cash.

The laws change from country to country, but I doubt you'll get in trouble, it's like cleaning your neighbor's car for a tip, not exactly illegal.
Ubuntu's licence doesn't restrict you from doing this in any way. There's nothing wrong with charging for Linux. You're providing a useful service, if people are willing to pay you then go for it.
Thanks for that
I do however believe you have to put the license document on the computers
