Way Too Much Ubuntu
What is going on with the file system "btrfs" is it worth looking into yet will there be any speed improvements? I understand Ubuntu is using it now? Is that just in 12.10 or 12.04, I haven't looked, (not really sure how to.)

You can use it, I think it's been an option since11.0410.10, of course is not default yet since... there are still things being worked out.... like a completely reliable fsck tool.

Thank you. I think I will stay away from it until it gets the bugs worked out. Maybe I will set up another hard drive and see what happens.

I've been using it for about a year on my home fileserver, due to what I perceive to be better data integrity (as metadata + regular data checksumming is listed as a feature).
No problems yet, though it gets very light usage.
A Carafe of Ubuntu
I've used BTRFS on openSUSE for the last few months (and currently on my laptop), no issues whatsoever. I don't know how the speed compares, openSUSE + BTRFS is much quicker than Ubuntu + Ext4, dunno if it's the file system, DE, or distro itself causing the difference. Only downside is it doesn't seem to be resizeable...
