How are you installing, by CD or USB?

    Which version of Buntu?

I had the same problem with my laptop. Changing the BIOS-settings tot the standard settings solved the problem.

I tried installing Ubuntu 12 this evening. I have the same error. My bios settings have never been changed since new. This machine is a very fast workstation-type machine.

Can you be more specific about what to experiment with in the Bios?

    Thanks,

    R.
