CTRL + Left arrow not skipping words

Hi. I'm using 12.04 Unity. Already posted this question in askubuntu.com (click me) but didn't get what I need. No where to go but here. I'm not sure if this is a bug or still something can be fix. Before the problem happened, I installed Xscreensaver because gnome-screensaver is just pure black. Then I tried typing in Terminal and I noticed that I can't skip/jump words going to the left. Other commands work like "CTRL + right arrow" jumps to the right, etc. Problem also happens even I'm on Gedit or just typing inside a Webpage textbox. Thinking that screensaver is the root cause I removed it, purged it, went back to gnome-screensaver but same problem. There's also no problem with ~/.inputrc or /etc/inputrc. Thanks for taking the time to read this or even give some solutions.

If I unmark Enable all menu access keys (such as Alt+f to open File Menu)
in terminal edit > keyboard shortcuts
    alt+f and alt+b skips words.

Ok, I don't use the feature and was just testing.
I didn't change any shortcuts, just disabled the alt menu.
ctrl+left works here in gedit but same as you in terminal.

No solution to what's grabbing the keys but
in my quantal install ctrl + arrows keys work in both terminal and gedit.
