    backlit keyboard ubuntu 12.04

My laptop is a toshiba qosmio x770 with ubuntu 12.04 64-bit and backlit keyboard doesn't work when I select ubuntu in boot. When I click in "Fn+z" to enable-disable backlit keyboard (in windows works perfectly) appear a popup, like volume control, with a full grey bar, but they never worked in ubuntu.
I already tried "acpi=off" and ubuntu doesn't boot.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I want to achieve the same thing and, like you, it doesn't work for me. Do you have found a solution?

Ok, thanks. From what I see, the backlit is on when it boots, but shut off when grub start to load the initial kernel. From what I've test, all others Fn functions I use works (I have don't try Power saver). I've foudn this thread that relate the same problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1533744 Hope it can help you.
