Exclamation Plugging in Android Phone causes computer to completely shutdown

    Hey,

I will provide any information you think might be useful.

Occasionally (on average twice each day) when I plug my phone in to charge from my computer from a USB port. My computer just completely shuts down. Some times it will automatically restart othertimes nothing, just shuts down. No messages are displayed. No crash message appears when I log back in.

I am using Kubuntu 12.04 running KDE 4.8.4. I am on a 64 bit computer with an Nvidia graphics card.

My mobile is a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1.1.

Any one else experience anything similar? Or have any suggestions as to why this might happen.

    Are you using a laptop?

Let us see your system logs. After you get a shutdown, reboot and take a look at /var/log/syslog.
