    12.04 fails to suspend

    Hi,

    I have built a desktop HTPC and installed Mythbuntu 12.04. It didn't quite work out of the box but searching this forum enabled me to sort out issues with the wireless card, the audio, and the TV tuners and it now works very nicely. However, I am stumped as to how to get the PC to suspend to ram or hibernate. I've trawled the forum and attempted various solutions but none have worked so far.

    I have tried from both the log-out dialog and the command line ("pm-suspend' & "pm-hibernate") to the same result. The screen fades to black but continues to send a signal to the TV,the fans continue to run and the LEDs remain lit. The only way to recover is to do a hard reset.

    I have updated to the latest catalyst drivers and have disabled all of the USB devices but it still crashes on suspend/hibernate.

    The system specs are:

    OS: Mythbuntu 12.04
    Kernel: 3.2.0-27
    Mobo: ASRock A75-Pro4-M
    CPU: AMD A8-3870K (integrated HD6550 GPU)
    RAM: 4GB DDR3

    I wanted to add to this thread that I just upgraded my system from 11.10 to 12.04 and that my suspend function works except the pc never powers down.
