Hi,
I do not know if my card is doing channel 44 since I don't know what you are talking about....
Here's the output :
Ok, I'll try again with the liveCD and get back to you.Code:karine@karlinux:~$ sudo iwlist wlan0 channel wlan0 32 channels in total; available frequencies : Channel 01 : 2.412 GHz Channel 02 : 2.417 GHz Channel 03 : 2.422 GHz Channel 04 : 2.427 GHz Channel 05 : 2.432 GHz Channel 06 : 2.437 GHz Channel 07 : 2.442 GHz Channel 08 : 2.447 GHz Channel 09 : 2.452 GHz Channel 10 : 2.457 GHz Channel 11 : 2.462 GHz Channel 12 : 2.467 GHz Channel 13 : 2.472 GHz Channel 36 : 5.18 GHz Channel 40 : 5.2 GHz Channel 44 : 5.22 GHz Channel 48 : 5.24 GHz Channel 52 : 5.26 GHz Channel 56 : 5.28 GHz Channel 60 : 5.3 GHz Channel 64 : 5.32 GHz Channel 100 : 5.5 GHz Channel 104 : 5.52 GHz Channel 108 : 5.54 GHz Channel 112 : 5.56 GHz Channel 116 : 5.58 GHz Channel 120 : 5.6 GHz Channel 124 : 5.62 GHz Channel 128 : 5.64 GHz Channel 132 : 5.66 GHz Channel 136 : 5.68 GHz Channel 140 : 5.7 GHz Current Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Your wireless card receives and sends on channel 44 just fine. I await your live CD report.karine@karlinux:~$ sudo iwlist wlan0 channel

We just want to confirm that the channel your router is transmitting on is receivable by your driver/card combination. We have; no worries there.do not know if my card is doing channel 44 since I don't know what you are talking about...

Thanks for the explanation and I am glad some things are right.
Now I am posting here form a liveCD session and I am connecting to the net without an itch. Here's the output of the command you required :
The thing you are interested in is there again.Code:ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ dmesg | grep ath [ 80.524449] device-mapper: multipath: version 1.3.0 loaded [ 101.998701] ath9k 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 [ 101.998732] ath9k 0000:02:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 102.007448] ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x6a [ 102.007451] ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a direct regpair map [ 102.007455] ath: Country alpha2 being used: 00 [ 102.007456] ath: Regpair used: 0x6a [ 102.816412] ieee80211 phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'ath9k_rate_control' [ 102.817581] Registered led device: ath9k-phy0 [ 529.660775] ath: Could not kill baseband RX
Yes, indeed. Also, most everything else is virtually unchanged. That leaves us no clues as to what to fix.The thing you are interested in is there again.
I suggest you install the Ubuntu version of compat-wireless:Unload the old and reload the new driver:Code:sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-cw-3.3-precise-genericAny improvement?Code:sudo modprobe -r ath9k sudo modprobe ath9k

Hi chili555,
I don't know what is happening right now but guess what ? The wireless card connect to the net wihout an itch this time since I came back from the live session. I am fighting with it til yesterday and now it is working....
Though, I don't know if it'll work for good.
When I did first post in this thread, I already had the linux-backports-modules-cw.... installed on my system.
I'll reboot again to see if it still works.
Here's what I have with the command :
The last line wasn't there... There is something about apparmor ???Code:dmesg | grep ath [ 15.872836] ath9k 0000:02:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 [ 15.872866] ath9k 0000:02:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 15.884906] ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x6a [ 15.884911] ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a direct regpair map [ 15.884915] ath: Country alpha2 being used: 00 [ 15.884917] ath: Regpair used: 0x6a [ 16.047611] ieee80211 phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'ath9k_rate_control' [ 16.048379] Registered led device: ath9k-phy0 [ 19.027050] type=1400 audit(1347640583.956:11): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" name="/usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5" pid=965 comm="apparmor_parser"
