Photoshop CS6 Installation Question

Hi there.

I'm trying to install Photoshop CS6 on my computer which is running as Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I tried installing and the installtion failed. I found the following page on Wine HQ (which i am using to install Photoshop).

I installed the recommended windows components i also have the latest Wine and Winetricks installed, but i'm wondering how i install it because once the extract finishes it says its failed.

I'm using Photoshop CS6 13.0, this is a legitment copy of Photoshop i bought a retail store. I'm able to install it on my Windows machine but not ubuntu.

Basically how do i install photoshop in terminal to try to install that way as people on that thread said what they did.

You're most likely going to go through a LOT of work for nothing.

The ratings for Photoshop are mostly GARBAGE and Bronze, meaning that even trying to install it is wasting time. Even the one Silver rating means that most of the features don't work.

Instead of struggling with a Windows app that barely works, you should consider using a Linux app that completely works -- GIMP.

Unless an application is rated platinum or gold then there's really no point.

Right -- for which the OP (1) must have a legal copy of a Win7 installation that has NOT been used already on another PC, and (2) has to install an ENTIRE Operating System -- just to use a single app.

The question was how to install an APPLICATION in Ubuntu, not how to install a new Operating System.

Use CS5 not 6. Ain't supported that yet.
Latest wine is working for latest CS6, It's little bit behind but
at least always working for solutions.

At least you can already do
professional graphics works in Linux, well as long your hardware
meets the graphic requirements too. With WINE, It will eat lots of
memory for graphics. So you'll need a wild dog hardware.
If you are a professional designer and want to drive with Ubuntu.
I suggest buy Crossover seems your PS is genuine, there you'll get magics.
Just make sure you have genuine PS and your system is built for higher graphics, else Crossover won't let you play with PS.
Most professional designer won't expose too much of their
system with their Adobe suites cause of their copyright concerns. ^_^
They don't care anymore if their suites is already working,
ain't no sharing secrets anymore for their protection.
One thing, don't rely with Linux if your working with nonlinear editing
with elements and AE. I'm not sure how things support, that matters already
to you system I think.
My designers don't like to work in Ubuntu if they
are working with video editing. Got no idea, haven't tried it yet too.
Anyway, just use the old versions of CS instead the latest.
Just a minor different from old versions between the latest.
Well one of my crew says that real artist don't used plugins & Filters,
use your own way as being creativity. ^_^ Hell nooo

If you have some older version of PS which has a better rating in Wine, you can try that.

Wake up and smell the get a real life coffee. And why wouldn't you install the whole suite? Photoshop doesn't do tab stops like Indesign!
