Black lines on LibreOffice Writer after paste.

    Hi Gang

Have been using Open Office Writer for quite a long time now without a problem.

Downloaded LibreOffice suite, using LibreOffice Writer as a tryout.

I can type to my hearts content, but if I either paste paragraph or two, or if I use five asterisks, after that I get nothing but black lines with every carriage return and it deletes what I write.

Searched the web for hours trying to find a solution to this problem.
Apparently I'm the only one having it?
As I could not find anything regarding that problem.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

here is a link that describes what is going on with the three or more asteriks drawing lines in text. See the section "Automatic lines in Writer" it also gives directions on how to turn off this feature. You can either undo a single instance (see screen shot), or disable it.
