I have a HP Officejet 6500 709a which is Wifi and works well on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin Unity. I use it a few times a week. I can scan and Fax also. Hp has a Linux toolbox within their HPLIP software. Ubuntu found the printer on the Network and everything runs great. Most HP printers are compatible with Linux.
