Neither of the parameters for the modprobe iwlwifi seem to work, I've tried both the wd_disable=1 and 11n_disable=1.

I misinterpreted the use of the uname -r command at first. I've sudo apt-get both the packages, but it continues to disconnect after a period of trying to connect.

Ok, I am on the brink of panic here. I tried a reboot after installing the modules but it wouldn't start as usual. Something about a missing /init seemed to be the problem. Booted up the grub and loaded an old version of ubuntu and here I am. What should I do?

    ps. Wireless still not working.
