12.04-How to eanable "Crtl-C" and "Ctrl-V" for Copy and Paste?

In Unity or Gnome-Classic. The old 10.04 methods don't work.
    Thanks!

    Yes they do!

At least, they should do, though I run the classic desktop without effects, and I don't know if compiz makes problems and requires specific settings to be selected. Compiz in 12.04 seems to be a complete mess as far as I can make out, which is why I run classic with no effects.

No, only the copy and paste function here - used to be: "apps > gnome-terminal > keybindings - Change copy/paste..."

Which apps are you trying it in where those keystrokes don't work? They work fine for me in 12.04, in Unity and in GNOME Shell.
