Firefox videos not going fullscreen

For some reason the full screen option on videos is not working properly on Firefox. It happens with Youtube videos and other websites. When I click the full screen option, I still can see the top and lower bars in Ubuntu desktop.
I'm using Gnome, I tried to get used to Unity but I gave up on that.
The DVD plays in full screen as normal.


I have Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm using Compiz. I'm not using the Compiz Cube because it flashes too much..

Any suggestions?
